I took the AWS SysOps Admin Associate exam this week and passed, thankfully! I found the exam to actually be harder than the Solutions Architect Associate exam. It was a bit odd though, some questions were super hard and others were much easier. I am required to have certifications for my role so I ended up doing the Cloud Practitioner and the SysOps admin within two weeks of each other to fulfill my goals.
The exam is 130 minutes long and mine was 65 questions. I finished with about 45 minutes left then spent another 15 minutes reviewing my flagged questions. With 30 minutes left I clicked submit, answered the silly survey, and was shown “Congratulations! You passed.” There was a weight lifted and I could relax!
The most challenging topics on the exam for me were the questions that required you to look at a JSON policy for either S3 or IAM and figure out what the issue was and how to fix it based on the what the question was asking.
